Middletown shows how America can make things again | Opinion Original
Sept. 2, 2026, 3:13 p.m. ET Cleveland-Cliffs just announced a $1 billion investment in its Middletown Works facility. With that investment, Middletown, Ohio, will become home to the world’s most advanced automotive steel manufacturing facility. Earning that title will take more than capital, so I want to thank the men and women who have already made Middletown home to one of North America's most productive steelmaking operations. Unless someone makes the stuff, there is no stuff.
Congress should protect Americans’ right to repair their own cars
OPINION: This past weekend, some of the fastest cars in the world raced through the streets of the nation’s capital. The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington brought IndyCar to Washington for the first time. And for anyone who cares about cars, the pit lane can be just as fascinating to watch as the race itself. When a car comes into the pits, the crew can make repairs quickly because it has access to the vehicle, the information and the parts needed to do the job.
REP. WARREN DAVIDSON: Privacy, Artificial Intelligence, And Congress
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to grow in both popularity and overall ability, Congress needs to act proactively — not reactively — to protect the American people by passing comprehensive frameworks to address concerns with AI.

House speaker fight: Republicans, it’s time to unite around a plan, not a person Original
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! For House Republicans to unite and move forward, reason must prevail over faction. Some refer to factions within the political parties as "tribalism." The goal is really to diminish the merits of alternative policy perspectives. The reality is that both Republicans and Democrats form diverse coalitions in an attempt to contain America’s diverse political views within two political parties.

Washington stands with Israel: Strengthening the alliance amidst regional challenges
As any friend of the Israeli and Jewish people should, our role must be to provide Israel with the time it needs to resolve its own affairs. While China and Russia flex their power, the possibility of our closest allies in the Middle East region hedging towards China would be very troublesome. Israel is a nation whose people consistently value our friendship and express great affinity for the United States.

Opinion: Biden's student debt scheme fails to address the root cause
Warren Davidson Opinion contributor As our nation’s largest student loan lender, the federal government, maintains a zero percent rejection rate, essentially anyone who wants a student loan can get one without difficulty. The student is given the power to accept or reject any financial aid. Unlike private lenders, the Department of Education does not underwrite student loans to assess the risk of default.
A Woke Military Is No Defense at All
The proposed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) will encourage critical race theory indoctrination and other “woke” policies while reducing our military preparedness. Forty-one Republican senators can stand together against the blinding liberal programs in the NDAA per the Senate rules. They can make sure that vaccine mandates go away before they agree to forward the bill to the House. Read Full Article »
Opinion: Vaccine hesitant Americans aren't necessarily anti-vaxxers
In December 2020, then-President-elect Joe Biden told Americans that he did not think vaccines should be mandatory. Since then, he’s changed his tune. Just last month, he directed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to issue an emergency order for employers to develop and implement COVID-19 vaccine requirements. Some state and local governments have issued their own mandates.
Republicans: Stop Funding an Unaccountable Military
Ohio's Rep. Davidson argues Congress must not authorize the NDAA until senior military leadership are held accountable and replaced. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and Army Gen. Mark A. Ex-Army Ranger Rep. Warren Davidson: 20 years after 9/11 we must wage war differently
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Twenty years ago, America changed. On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, I was at work at my manufacturing business in Ohio when an unprovoked terrorist attack shocked the nation and galvanized Americans of all stripes. The response was, thankfully, visceral. Few people recall that al Qaeda was already a known threat on 9/11. They bombed America’s embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in August 1998 – while I was serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment.
In search of leadership at the National Personnel Records Center
Rep. Warren Davidson 3 days ago (Staff Sgt. Joshua Weaver/Air Force graphic) Last March, like many other government office buildings, the National Personnel Records Center closed in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus. Considering that everything from Social Security Offices, to National Parks, to Motor Vehicle Centers closed down, the NPRC closure went largely unnoticed.
Ohio Rep. Warren Davidson: 'I am duty-bound to object to electors'
In November, more Americans than ever before exercised their right to vote, participating in the civic sacrament of choosing their next President of the United States. Record-breaking turnout is cause for celebration. America is stronger when citizens make their voices heard by voting. The constitutional culmination of the 2020 presidential election is Wednesday, when the House of Representatives and the Senate meet in a joint session of Congress to certify the results of the Electoral College.
Printed Money, Central Planning Won't Revive Economy
When the history of 2020 is written, COVID 19 will loom large—as a public health crisis, but especially for its effects on economic and civic life. While different decisions could have been made, the fiscal and monetary policy interventions by Congress and the Federal Reserve, while controversial, have provided some essential stability for individuals, families, businesses and communities in the face of catastrophic state quarantine orders.
Rep. Warren Davidson: Memorial Day -- Coronavirus will not overshadow sacrifice of our nation's heroes

Much of the country will welcome the unofficial start of summer with stay-at-home orders still in place, necessitating the cancellation or reduction of community observances and gatherings.
Rep. Warren Davidson: Coronavirus relief - make Congress work again before more deals approved
Get all the latest news on coronavirus and more delivered daily to your inbox. Sign up here. Last month, Congress made history by passing the CARES Act — the $2 trillion coronavirus pandemic relief package — by voice vote. Last week, the House safely, albeit briefly, returned to extend several programs. Otherwise, however, Congress has been eerily silent. No doubt individual members have been busy working via Zoom and conference call — I certainly have.
Dems' COVID Bill Would Expand Tax-Funded Abortion
COMMENTARY By Warren Davidson & Mary Vought - RCP Contributor April 29, 2020 COMMENTARY If you want a preview of Democrats’ agenda should they gain more political power this fall, look no further than coronavirus legislation that Nancy Pelosi released last month. That bill includes an array of liberal spending provisions out of sync with the American people’s priorities — including taxpayer funding of plans that cover abortion.
Rep. Warren Davidson: Our Founding Fathers would let bulk surveillance expire
When our Founding Fathers established this American Republic, a wise group insisted that our Constitution include the Bill of Rights to ensure that the federal government they created could not infringe on the natural rights of Americans. The First and Second Amendments protect speech and the right to bear arms, respectively.
The status quo: My view from Washington
Status quo is a Latin phrase meaning the “existing state of affairs.” I ran for Congress to change “the existing state of affairs” in Washington. Before starting this journey, I spent the previous fifteen years building manufacturing businesses across Ohio’s 8th district. We were over-regulated and over-taxed, and increasingly, I grew frustrated with politicians kicking the can down the road on a variety of issues.

My plan to expand HSAs and healthcare price transparency
The start of the year is a time when millions of Americans make promises to improve their lives by changing habits or adopting new ones. Some of the most common resolutions revolve around improving our health: quitting smoking, eating healthier, or exercising more regularly. But many Americans also consider their financial health at the start of every year by committing to saving more money or getting out of debt.
A time for war, a time for peace - and always a time to defend America
After an astonishing airstrike in Iraq that killed Iranian Maj. General Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s destabilizing force is on notice. While the strike sent shocks around the world, those who pay attention to volatile Middle East politics know it was a long time coming.
Rep. Warren Davidson: The Army-Navy game is 'America's Game' -- We could use more of them
Here’s to the healthiest rivalry in American sports. There’s a reason it’s called “America’s Game.” When the Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen meet at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia this weekend, it will be occupied by players on both sidelines who have pledged themselves to a lifetime of service to our nation.
Small businesses brace for red tape
By Warren Davidson - U.S. Representative A well-intended, zealously pursued, quest often has negative consequences. Such is currently the case with the Corporate Transparency Act, which is being pushed by some of my colleagues on the House Financial Services Committee. In their quest to reduce corruption and weed out bad actors in the business world, their work is jeopardizing the privacy of millions of Americans and strangling a key engine of American economic growth—small businesses.

Socialism is the wrong direction for America
The arrival of self-proclaimed Democrat Socialists in Congress has forced elected Democrats to embrace a new identity — an identity that abandons capitalism and embraces the false promises of socialism. Though dramatically on display in the presidential campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders and the rise of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, this shift for Democrats is an acceleration of long-term trends.
Rep. Warren Davidson: Socialist 'Medicare-for-all' is wrong direction for America
Socialism claims to promote equality and prosperity, but the fruit of socialism is scarcity. I know because I witnessed the effects of socialist policy first-hand. Stationed in Germany, I saw the failures of this ideology and the faces of those who survived it. Thanks to West German television, East Germans knew about Western culture but could never experience it.
Blockchain could spark renaissance economy
America is the world’s land of opportunity. We attract people and capital from all over the world for a variety of reasons. America’s GDP growth, low unemployment, and favorable markets are the envy of the world, but how did we get here and—perhaps most important for us today—how do we stay in this coveted position? Vibrant capital markets that foster innovation and disruption of entrenched incumbents in a free society are key.
Farm Forum: A discussion on Ohio’s agricultural economy
By Rep. Warren Davidson - Contributing columnist The ingenuity and productivity of America’s farmers will ultimately determine their future. While American farmers are the best in the world, they face many 21st century challenges, including competitive global markets, unpredictable climate conditions, and increased costs due to regulatory compliance and a tight labor market.
Opinion: US needs a defense secretary whose views align with the Constitution
Warren Davidson, Opinion contributor Published 3:04 p.m. ET Jan. 8, 2019 | Updated 3:05 p.m. ET Jan. 8, 2019 Defense Secretary Jim Mattis cited policy differences with President Donald Trump when turning in his resignation.(Photo: AFP/WOCHIT) The resignation of widely-respected Secretary of Defense James Mattis touched a combination of public nerves.
It’s Time to Reform Food-Stamp Policy | National Review
Dan Roberts inspects his corn crops during the harvest in Minooka, Ill., in 2014. (Jim Young/Reuters) With no work requirements, the farm bill offers more of the same. A strong farming industry is vital to America’s economy and national security. With the ongoing tariff battle, there is no question that some federal assistance can help protect America’s farm economy. However, the farm bill passed yesterday by Congress undermines the interests of America’s taxpayers.
Minimizing tariffs and implementing targeted sanctions against bad actors is the recipe
ANALYSIS/OPINION:Prior to becoming a congressman in a special election two years ago, I spent 15 years starting, acquiring and growing manufacturing companies. I have experienced bad trade policy firsthand. Consequently, when Donald Trump campaigned on promises to fix our broken trade deals, like most of my colleagues in manufacturing, I was energized.Of course, trade affects far more than manufacturing. Ohio’s 8th Congressional District is also one of the top agriculture districts in America.
Restoring accountability to trade
Then-candidate Donald Trump gave voice to the concerns of millions of American workers regarding how trade agreements can adversely impact domestic job growth and disrupt industries abroad. The President’s commitment to put America first in trade is a commendable step in fulfilling his promise to American workers. Now, Congress needs to join the fight to ensure these efforts effectively move forward.
Will FISA write the epitaph of the Fourth Amendment?
Although Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act was just reauthorized for six years, I joined a broad coalition of Republicans and Democrats who share constitutional concerns about the current program and the reauthorization bill.
Cincinnati a poster child for VA problems
U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson is a former U.S. Army officer and graduate of U.S. Army Ranger School. Jeremiah Martin served in the Army National Guard for six years and serves as the Ohio state director of Concerned Veterans for America. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald recently spoke in Cincinnati, praising the health care his institution provides. If you take it from him, quality and reliability of care are improving across the VA system. The truth is far more complicated.
eform Veterans Affairs: Congress Should Get Its Own Health Care at VA Hospitals | National Review
No veterans should go without quality health care after the sacrifices they have made for our country. . . . The way our veterans have been treated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a crime. . . . We are morally bankrupt as a nation if we cannot care for our veterans. We all have heard elected officials make these statements. At this point, they have become platitudes. If a poll were conducted, 100 percent of Congress would agree with them.
