Webb City benefits from six Lebanon turnovers in 42-14 quarterfinal win
Video Playback Not Supported By Brennan Stebbins (For OzarksSportsZone.com) There was one play etched in the mind of Webb City coach John Roderique after Friday’s quarterfinal game against Lebanon. Athlete of the Week: Springfield Aquatics National Team
Video Playback Not Supported “Getting to train with these girls is amazing. We work hard every day,” said Webb City’s Aubree Brouwer. Springfield Aquatics National Team has four swimmers that have either signed, or committed to swim at the Division-I level. Both juniors Brouwer, and Springfield Catholic’s Casaundra Moses verbally committed to NC State. “Raliegh is really beautiful, so I’m really excited to get to live there, and obviously being on a team with Cassie will be amazing,” Brouwer said.
2020-21 Winter Preview: Webb City Wrestling
By Brennan Stebbins (For OzarksSportsZone.com) On paper, at least, the Webb City wrestling team only has a few holes to fill this winter. The Cardinals had just four seniors in their district lineup last season and graduated two state qualifiers. But those two qualifiers – Kyler Carter and Josh Copher – will go down as two of Webb City’s greats on the wrestling mat. “It’ll be a challenge,” head coach Larron Hurst said.

Webb City softball finishes runner-up in Class 4
By Pat Dailey (For OzarkSportsZone.com) If senior pitcher Haidyn Berry couldn’t win her final game in a Webb City uniform, she took great consolation that she and the Lady Cardinals were part of an action-packed, extra-inning thriller that could go down as one of the best games in state tournament history. “Going out with a bang, that’s what we did,” Berry said. Webster Groves edged Webb City 5-4 in an eight-inning instant classic for the Class 4 state title Friday.
Lewis & Hylton power Carl Junction past Webb City in district title match
By Brock Sisney (For OzarksSportsZone.com) WEBB CITY — It has been said many times before that it’s difficult for one team to beat another three times during the same season. The Carl Junction Lady Bulldogs did just that by sweeping their arch rival Webb City Lady Cardinals 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-23) Wednesday evening for a Class 4, District 11 title inside the Cardinal Dome. “That is a challenge,” Carl Junction head coach Cheryl Sharples said. “It can work one of two ways.
Webb City advances to first final four in seven years

Webb City dominates COC swim championships, Nixa sets records
By Brennan Stebbins (For OzarksSportsZone.com) By the time the final event started at Tuesday’s Central Ozark Conference swimming championship, there was no question who was going to win. For most of the night, in fact, the eventual champion was clear. Host Webb City racked up 338 points and blew the competition out of the water in its home pool, claiming the school’s first official COC swimming and diving title in the process.
Berry's no-hitter carries Webb City to Class 4 District 6 championship
By Brennan Stebbins (For OzarksSportsZone.com) Kaylyn Gilbert was barely halfway down the first base line when she started shouting and clapping. The Webb City junior had just launched a fastball over the center field fence – a no doubter of a home run – and it couldn’t have come in a bigger moment: the bottom of the sixth inning in a scoreless game to decide the district championship. “I couldn’t slow down,” Gilbert said. “I was so excited to get back to them.

Webb City turns in dominant 28-0 win against Nixa
Video Playback Not Supported By Brennan Stebbins (For OzarksSportsZone.com) The Webb City football team had won 11 straight home games entering Friday and sported a 146-11 record this century at Cardinal Stadium.
