A US economic slowdown, low US inflation, and fears of US financial repression could contribute to a weaker dollar. Despite some positive support for USD, including strong foreign equity inflows and elevated global energy prices, it may not be enough to limit the downside. Since mid-July, we have been leaning toward a softer USD.
