Causal adiposity and clinical validation of regional fat distribution in PMOS: a multi-modal analysis integrating GBD 2021, Mendelian randomization, and machine learning
Abstract Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), previously named polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), is the most common endocrine disorder among women of reproductive age and a leading cause of anovulatory infertility. However, the evolving global burden of PMOS and the role of adiposity, particularly regional fat distribution, remain incompletely understood.
Principles of optics in Fock space for the scalable manipulation of large quantum states
Abstract The principles of wave optics provide elegant and scalable control over classical light in spatial and temporal domains. However, in the quantum regime, engineering Fock states of photons has been largely restricted to only a few photons at a time, hindered by the computational and experimental challenges of large Hilbert spaces.
Space-time odd-symmetric Butterfly wave packets with multidimensional modulation properties
Achieving multidimensional modulation and analysis of breathers in a local nonlinear medium is a highly significant research area. We present what we believe is the first investigation of space-time odd-symmetric Butterfly (STOSB) wave packets in a local nonlinear medium, focusing on their odd-symmetric focus and focal length control.
Compact and high-resolution spectrometer via Brillouin integrated circuits - Nature Communications
Abstract Optical spectrometers are indispensable tools across various fields, from chemical and biological sensing to astronomical observations and quantum technologies. However, the integration of spectrometers onto photonic chips has been hindered by the low spectral resolution or large device footprint with complex multiple channel operations. Here, we introduce a chip-integrated spectrometer by leveraging the acoustically-stimulated Brillouin scattering in a hybrid photonic-phononic chip.
Enhancement and expansion of auto-focusing ability of polymorphic Pearcey beams
In this work, a novel, to the best of our knowledge, zonal phase (ZP) modulation technique is introduced to solve the problem that the non-circular symmetric Pearcey beams (NCSPBs) lose relatively perfect auto-focusing ability. Our method efficiently improves the auto-focusing ability of the beams, achieves flexible control of the focus position or even generates multiple focusing effects, and is applicable to various forms of Pearcey beams.
Research progress on natural preservatives of meat and meat products: classifications, mechanisms and applications
Meat and meat products are highly susceptible to contamination by microorganisms and foodborne pathogens, which cause serious economic losses and health hazards. The large consumption and waste of meat and meat products have led to the need for safe and effective preservation methods. Further, toxicological aspects of chemical preservation techniques related to major health problems have sparked controversies and has prompted consumers and producers to turn to natural preservatives.

Protecting entanglement between logical qubits via quantum error correction - Nature Physics
Abstract Entanglement is one of the most important resources in quantum computing, cryptography and sensing. However, entanglement is also fragile, and its potential advantages are hindered by decoherence effects in experiments. Here we experimentally realize entangled logical qubits with a bosonic quantum module by encoding quantum information into spatially separated microwave modes.

Beating the break-even point with a discrete-variable-encoded logical qubit - Nature
Abstract Quantum error correction (QEC) aims to protect logical qubits from noises by using the redundancy of a large Hilbert space, which allows errors to be detected and corrected in real time1. In most QEC codes2,3,4,5,6,7,8, a logical qubit is encoded in some discrete variables, for example photon numbers, so that the encoded quantum information can be unambiguously extracted after processing.
A twofold quantum delayed-choice experiment in a superconducting circuit
Wave-particle complementarity lies at the heart of quantum mechanics. To illustrate this mysterious feature, Wheeler proposed the delayed-choice experiment, where a quantum system manifests the wave- or particle-like attribute, depending on the experimental arrangement, which is made after the system has entered the interferometer.
