Wideband patch antenna under dual high-order modes with radiation pattern reshaping

A patch antenna for radiation pattern reshaping of dual high-order modes is proposed in this paper. The conventional radiation pattern of the TM and TM modes are firstly investigated based on the on-patch current distribution. By etching the conductive portions symmetric to the y-axis and reducing the width of the square patch, the current vector is reshaped to be more in-phase, achieving the sidelobe reduction of two modes in case of dual resonance.
