1 Introduction Perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) is a family of rare mesenchymal neoplasms composed of perivascular epithelioid to spindle cells that typically coexpress smooth muscle and melanocytic markers [1, 2]. A distinct subset of PEComa is characterized by rearrangements involving transcription factor E3 (TFE3), usually occurring in younger patients and lacking association with tuberous sclerosis complex [3-5].
