1 Introduction In cementing operations for deep and ultra-deep oil and gas wells, HTHP (high-temperature high-pressure) downhole environments impose severe challenges on the performance of cement slurries [1-3]. Under these harsh conditions, chemical additives in the slurry are susceptible to thermal degradation, which weakens their functionality and ultimately impairs the overall performance of the cement slurry.
