One of the most common injuries I see with strength athletes is upper back/neck pain. They will usually report “tweaking” their neck or their neck “locking” up frequently, and it’s usually after a workout involving HSPU, pull-ups or barbell work overhead. These same athletes can’t come close to performing the advanced variation of the front bodyline drill. Why is this? Life in general – sitting at a desk, driving, our cell phones – all tend to be upper trap dominant activities.

This is easier said than done, as generally the majority of these new comers to fitness have neglected their health for quite awhile.

PICKENS COUNTY — On Thursday, Dec. 14, Christmas came for Pickens County residents. A conservation easement was filed with Pickens County. After much work by Upstate Forever and others, Atlantic Coast Conservancy filed an easement to protect Glassy Mountain from a subdivision development. The fruits of everyone’s labor paid off in the team effort of people from different counties and states.
