Scattered strong to severe storms have developed... stay alert for additional pop-up storms through at least 10 PM this evening. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Storm coverage remains very isolated across Central Alabama today, with most of the storm development staying well to our north across Tennessee. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for parts of north Alabama, but locally coverage won’t be nearly as widespread as what we saw yesterday. One or two storms could become strong, but activity will stay isolated and localized.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - It has been a very active day across our area with numerous severe storms developing. For some areas, the heat index went from near 112º to feels-like temperatures in the 70s. As expected, the bubble popped as all this building heat and instability finally gave way to developing afternoon storms.
