Papua New Guinea’s recent grey listing by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has understandably generated discussion across the business community. It is an important development, but it is equally important to keep it in perspective. Grey listing means a country has identified areas in its systems for combating financial crime that require strengthening and has committed to an improvement plan under international monitoring.
