Not counting freelance work, I started as a clerk.

With brevity and respect.

iPad, iPhone, Canon DSLR with many lenses, voice recorder, iMovie, etc.

Why did you become a journalist?
It happened by accident, really. But I'm inquisitive, so it was a natural fit.

No.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Meth.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Focus on the storytelling skills you don't have. Improve those. The days of being just one thing (reporter, photographer) are over.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Never. Well, actually, there's a good time, but it's hard to say.
