Patricia L. Davis, the mother of Senate President Nicholas Scutari, died on May 30. She was 80. Davis was born in Newark on June 27, 1945. She was the daughter of Lester Davis, who worked as a printer for The Star-Ledger, and Josephine Passera, and a graduate of Eastside High School. She became a licensed beautician. After her marriage in 1964, she lived her entire adult life in Linden and worked various sales jobs while raising her two sons predominantly as a single mother after her divorce in 1980.
