Data analysis All analyses were performed using R version 3.5.2 (R Core Team, 2018). Fisher’s exact test was used to compare the rates of rejection by frogs between bombardier beetles and assassin bugs. Welch’s t-test was used to compare the body size (body length and weight) of bombardier beetles and assassin bugs; it was also used to compare the body size (snout–vent length and body weight) of pond frogs that attacked bombardier beetles and assassin bugs.
