For years, my in-laws used to have a 60-foot flagpole outside their home. Located near the water in Narragansett, the massive flag that hung from the pole made it very easy to spot their house from nearby beaches. It was also a bit of a chore to raise and lower, but for years the task was completed, sometimes with the help of my sons when they were much younger. I mention this because Sunday, June 14, is Flag Day and it's one of those holidays that tends to fly under the radar.
