Will Tucker’s Biography

I cover the campaign finance beat in the post-Citizens United era for OpenSecrets.org. I investigate super PACs, candidate committees, political nonprofits and mega-donors on both the Democrat and Republican sides with an eye on congressional ethics rules, FEC regulations and tax laws.

Previously, as Hearst Newspapers' first investigative fellow, I focused on investigative political journalism in Washington, D.C. with an eye on members of Congress from our newspapers' markets.

I graduated in 2013 from the University of Alabama with a degree in international relations and Spanish. I served as the editor-in-chief of The Crimson White, UA's award-winning daily student newspaper for the 2012-13 year, and received the Southeastern Journalism Conference's Journalist of the Year award for leading reporting projects on fraternity hazing and racial segregation in Alabama's sororities.
