Democrats Fixate On Gay Marriage While The Country Crumbles Original
Last week, House Democrats forced a snap vote on a bill that aims to codify same-sex marriage and more in federal law. The House passed the “Respect for Marriage Act” (RMA) 267-157. Forty-seven Republicans joined the majority. The bill could come up for a vote in the Senate in the next two weeks. If enough Republican senators join the Democrats to overcome a filibuster, President Biden could sign it into law before the 2022 election.

Universities: Don't Sacrifice Sports Due to Tight Budgets
Stanford University recently announced it would discontinue 11 of its 36 varsity sports at the end of the 2020-21 academic year, thus creating a huge hole in the university's athletic programs and leaving dozens of student-athletes, coaches and supporters adrift. The reason for this decision, according to an open letter to the Stanford community from Stanford's president, provost and athletic director, is financial, stretching back several years before the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated matters.
Emotional Intelligence: A Critical Job Skill

Gratitude, he reasoned, nourishes continuity in society while its opposite—resentment—provokes discontent and disruption. Buckley was hardly the first to say this. The great religions teach that a noble person is grateful for the favors he receives from others.
Tax reform needs to be about more than a tax cut
That is why I was so optimistic earlier this year when tax-writers at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue promised to correct the code's fundamental preference for foreign workers, not just lower rates. The initial effort now looks stalled, as policy makers haggle over the details and industry groups marshal opposition to proposals they don't like.
The Francis Effect: The Lessons of Collaborative Leadership in the Catholic Church
Despite being in office only a few years, Pope Francis has already created significant change in the ministry of the Catholic Church. President John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” The popular enthusiasm surrounding the papacy of Pope Francis is, in part, a testament to his highly collaborative leadership style and inclusive tone.
