Not too long ago, I was speaking with a village resident about a scam they wanted to report. This scam involved a phone call where the caller tried to convince the resident that they had won cash prizes. To claim them, the resident would need to purchase gift cards and provide the caller with the information on the card. Then, the resident could claim their prizes. Luckily, the resident didn’t take the bait and reported what had happened to the police.
