Introduction Cerebellar ataxia (CA) is an umbrella term that refers to genetically and nongenetically inherited conditions characterized by postural instability and the incoordination of gait, speech, limb, and eyeball movements.1 Damage to the cerebellum can be caused by traumatic, vascular, congenital, or metabolic events, and in certain cases, damage occurs spontaneously.2 The prevalence of CA differs depending on the underlying cause.
