Donald Trump has declared that the King’s upcoming state visit to the US will go ahead, despite suggestions from MPs that the visit should be delayed. The US president has said that he was “looking forward” to meeting King Charles III as part of a historic state, visit despite his recent criticisms of British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Sir Keir has endured several barbed comments from Trump, most recently because of his stance on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
