Interview

What's your favorite social network?

I prefer not to spend to much time on networks. That’s why I work with LinkedIn only. My favorite network is the network I have in my offline world 😊

Who do you wish followed you?

Ideally, I'd love someone following me that is able to teleport me to a palm-fringed island with Asian food. Failing that, a magical unicorn.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The current market situation for photographers (in the Netherlands) isn't exactly ideal. I wrote about that in this article on Villamedia.nl: https://www.villamedia.nl/artikel/opinie-de-prijzen-die-fotografen-krijgen-voor-hun-diensten-staan-al-jaren-onder-druk-en-die-druk-neemt-toe). We're all facing pressure on our fees, and it's not a trend that's going away any time soon.I try to focus on actionable strategies to help fellow photographers navigate this tricky market and thrive despite the pressure. By sharing these strategies, I hope to equip photographers with tools to not only survive the current market pressures but also to build a sustainable and rewarding career in photography. I recently wrote about the value of photography: https://www.reclamebeeld.nl/what-is-the-value-of-photography/. We know photography holds immense value. Now it's time to ensure a fair share of that value goes to the photographers themselves.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

I enjoy chasing plastic birdies on a disc golf course, getting sweaty during a futsal frenzy, or having a gaming session with my friends. Or simply wandering through my beautiful city of The Hague.
