The online databases Google Scholar and PubMed were searched for PDR in Ethiopia to identify relevant literature published until March 30, 2023. The search for the literature was done using the following search terms: [(“human immunodeficiency virus” OR HIV OR AIDS OR “acquired immunodeficiency syndrome”) AND (“antiretroviral therapy” OR HAART OR ART) AND (“drug resistance” OR naïve OR "pregnant women" OR antenatal OR subtype OR surveillance) AND (Ethiopia)].

BMC Pediatrics, Aug 2023 Data on the burden of bacteriologically confirmed childhood Tuberculosis (PTB) and drug-resistant TB in Ethiopia is limited due to difficulties related to its diagnosis in this population. Therefore, this study aimed to assess bacteriologically confirmed childhood PTB Case Notification Rates (CNRs) and the burden of Drug Resistant-Tuberculosis among children in Ethiopia.

Retrospective secondary clinical and laboratory data were obtained from the 3rd round national DR-TB survey which was conducted between August 2017 and January 2019 [19]. The survey was conducted using samples collected from 199 health facilities that are considered to be national representatives from all over the country. However, bacteriologically confirmed childhood PTB cases were reported only from 62/199 (31%) health facilities.
