Each year, wildlife crime enforcers from around the UK descend upon Leamington Spa to share insights and experiences on tackling wildlife crime in this country and abroad. This weekend I’ve been at the National Wildlife Crime Enforcers Conference to present awards on behalf of WWF to the law enforcers who have gone above and beyond to tackle wildlife crime in the UK. And the winners are….

It was all smiles, cheers and celebration when Fatuma lit the first ever solar lantern in the village, lighting the whole one roomed house. The night had literally turned into daytime. It’s one of the communities now benefitting from a shift to sustainable energy thanks to the support of WWF and Size of Wales.

Background to 1.5°C Since the industrial revolution average global temperatures have risen ~1°C. The goal of the UN Paris Agreement is to hold global warming to well below 2°C and endeavor to limit it to 1.5°C, relative to preindustrial levels. Thus, a 1.5°C scenario relates to additional global warming of 0.5°C. Here, we look at the potential impacts of a 1.5°C scenario on the Antarctic Peninsula.
