Letter to the Editor: The Gut Microbiome–Endocrine Axis in Obesity: Mechanisms and Therapeutics
To the Editor, I read with great interest the invited review by Mao et al., which elegantly integrates mechanistic insights across the gut–brain, gut–adipose, and gut–pancreas axes in obesity [1]. The proposed gut–endocrine framework is timely and provides a solid foundation for understanding how microbial signals translate into systemic metabolic dysregulation. We offer three constructive suggestions to further enhance the review's clinical relevance in the rapidly evolving therapeutic landscape.

Residue-free wafer-scale direct imprinting of two-dimensional materials - Nature Electronics
Abstract Two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors have the potential to replace silicon in next-generation electronic devices. However, despite advances in proof-of-concept device demonstrations and wafer-scale crystal synthesis, the lack of a compatible residue-free patterning technology has hindered industrialization. Here we describe a metal-stamp imprinting method for patterning 2D films into high-quality wafer-scale arrays without introducing chemical or polymer residues.

Drug development has always been about a high degree of research, and researchers are looking to improve drug potency and absorption into the body while minimizing side effects to enhance the efficacy of the treatment of a disease and provide a better safety profile for patients [1,2]. Progress in the traditional drug delivery system has declined in recent years, and the downsides of traditional drug delivery methods have led researchers to pursue targeted drug development.
A temperate 10-Earth-mass exoplanet around the Sun-like star Kepler-725 - Nature Astronomy
Abstract The detection of low-mass exoplanets (≤10 Earth masses (M⊕)) yields fundamental inputs for current theories of planet formation and evolution, and supplies critical information for the planned direct-imaging missions that aim to detect and characterize Earth-like planets in the habitable zones around solar-like stars.
Hopfions in chiral magnetic trilayers
Magnetic hopfions are three-dimensional localized topological spin textures characterized by the Hopf invariant. Stable hopfions exist in chiral magnetic trilayers consisting of a middle layer with a weaker perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) and two capping layers with a stronger PMA. The middle layer holds a hopfion, and the capping layers prevent the hopfion from dilating. However, the existence criteria for a stable hopfion are not adequately known.
Simulating Extreme Space Weather With Kinetic Magnetotail Reconnection
1 Introduction Extreme events make up a small subset of space weather, but drive many of the critical impacts to human systems. From geomagnetically-induced currents to wildlife migration, the effects of solar storms are far-reaching. There have been a limited number of extreme events in the modern age, however, and many of those are poorly-observed.
Engineering Cu-Co bimetallic catalyst with fullerene as hydrophobic modulator for precisely synergistic synthesis of higher alcohols
The conversion of syngas (CO and H2) into value-added chemicals, particularly higher alcohols (HAs, C2+OH), is a critical industrial process aiming at the clean utilization of coal, natural gas, shale gas, greenhouse gas, and biomass [1], [2], [3]. It is also of great significance in addressing energy and environmental challenges. HAs are not only important alternative fuels and gasoline additives with enhanced octane rating, but also possessing high volumetric and gravimetric energy density [4].

BGA-YOLOX-s: Real-time fine-grained detection of silkworm cocoon defects with a ghost convolution module and a joint multiscale fusion attention mechanism
Cocoons may be affected by moisture, squeezing, and contamination by silkworm excreta during cocoon storage and handling, resulting in inconsistent silkworm cocoon quality. The normal color, shape, thickness and texture of cocoons determine whether they are suitable for silk production [1]. Those cocoons with natural color, orderly shape, moderate thickness and uniform texture and wrinkles are called first-class cocoons. These cocoons can be used in the silk manufacturing process.
$^{19}\mathrm{F}(p,\ensuremath{\gamma})^{20}\mathrm{Ne}$ reaction rate and the puzzling calcium abundance in metal-poor stars
The reaction is the only process to break out of the CNO cycle at temperature below 0.1 GK and may serve as the origin of calcium in first generation of stars after the Big Bang. In the recent measurement, the Jinping Underground Nuclear Experiment (JUNA) obtained the rate of reaction, significantly larger than the previously recommended values. In this work, we perform the theoretical studies of the reaction using the Gamow shell model in the coupled-channel representation (GSM-CC).
Tunable valley polarization and magnetic anisotropy by polarization reversal in Ni2Cl3I3/AgBiP2S6 heterojunction
Tunable valley polarization and magnetic anisotropy by polarization reversal in Ni2Cl3I3/AgBiP2S6 heterojunction Two-dimensional (2D) Janus trihalides have great potential applications in spintronics. In this work, the valley polarization of AgBiP2S6 at the K' and K points can be modulated by Ni2Cl3I3, a new 2D Janus trihalide. The Ni2Cl3I3/AgBiP2S6 heterojunction exhibits three different electronic structures: metal, half-metal and semiconductor under different stacking configurations.
Approximate P3 equation analysis in multi-layer slab media: Steady-state and time-domain based on the diffusion model
The physical models that investigate light transmission within biological tissues serve as the prerequisites and fundamental building blocks for optical non-invasive detection and treatment methods [1]. The diffuse reflection exhibited on the surface of these tissues is intricately linked to their optical properties, enabling us to deduce these properties by analyzing the distribution of light on their surfaces.

Expanding momentum bandgaps in photonic time crystals through resonances - Nature Photonics
Abstract The realization of photonic time crystals is a major opportunity but also comes with considerable challenges. The most pressing one, potentially, is the requirement for a substantial modulation strength in the material properties to create a noticeable momentum bandgap. Reaching that noticeable bandgap in optics is highly demanding with current, and possibly also future materials platforms because their modulation strength is small by tendency.
Transition metal promoted Brook rearrangement and its related reactions
In organic synthesis, we rely on the strategy of exploiting reagents which has opposite charges to forming a chemical bond, for example, in the nucleophilic addition reaction of a carbonyl compound, an electron-rich or negatively charged reagent (nucleophile) attacks the positively charged carbon of the carbonyl group (electrophile), thus forming a covalent bond.
