There is a pressing need to extend and strengthen the evidence base for patients suffering a hip fracture. The World Hip Trauma Evaluation (WHiTE) platform trial offers the opportunity to test multiple, simultaneous interventions to improve outcomes throughout the care pathway, using an established network of recruiting centres and efficient trial methodology. The design of the WHiTE platform takes advantage of the flexibility and potential efficiency of adaptive trial methods.
