Simultaneous Suppression of Phonon Transport and Carrier Concentration for Efficient Rhombohedral GeTe Thermoelectric
1 Introduction GeTe crystallizes in a rhombohedral (r) structure below ≈700 K,[1] exhibiting dominant charge conduction by the high-energy Σ valence band that has a band degeneracy (Nv) of 12.

Contrasting roles of Bi- doping and Bi2Te3 alloying on the thermoelectric performance of SnTe
Contrasting roles of Bi- doping and Bi2Te3 alloying on the thermoelectric performance of SnTe Di Wu, Fudong Zhang, Xia Qi, Mingkai He, Fengshan Zheng, Lei Jin, Zhanhui Peng, Xiaolian Chao and Zupei Yang Abstract SnTe is regarded as a promising lead-free and environment-friendly alternative to replace the state-of-art mid-temperature thermoelectric materials PbTe, owing to its band structure similarity and nontoxic merit.
Preparative separation and purification of loliolide and epiloliolide from Ascophyllum nodosum using amine-based microporous organic polymer for solid phase extraction coupled with macroporous resin and prep-HPLC
Preparative separation and purification of loliolide and epiloliolide from Ascophyllum nodosum using amine-based microporous organic polymer for solid phase extraction coupled with macroporous resin and prep-HPLC Herein, we report a novel approach for the preparative separation and purification of loliolide and epiloliolide from Ascophyllum nodosum. An amine-based microporous organic polymer (MOP) was used for the pretreatment of the A. nodosum extract via solid-phase extraction (SPE).

Enhanced electrical properties and restrained thermal transport in p- and n-type thermoelectric metal-organic framework hybrids
Enhanced electrical properties and restrained thermal transport in p- and n-type thermoelectric metal-organic framework hybrids Making organic devices with a single material is very challenging although the single material device has been considered as the next generation device for organic electronics. Here we report that an effective approach to improve the thermoelectric (TE) performance of p- and n-type metal-organic frameworks (MOF) based hybrids.
Eutectoid Nano-precipitations inducing Remarkably Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in (Sn1-xCdxTe)1-y(Cu2Te)y
Eutectoid Nano-precipitations inducing Remarkably Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in (Sn1-xCdxTe)1-y(Cu2Te)y Due to its similar crystallographic and electronic band structure with PbTe, SnTe becomes a natural alternative of PbTe for promising mid-temperature thermoelectric power generation and refrigeration. The bottleneck which restricts the thermoelectric performance of SnTe lies mainly in its relatively high lattice thermal conductivity.

Combination of chicken embryo and nutritional supplement protect a rat model of aging against D-galactose-induced dysfunction of mitochondria and autophagy
Combination of chicken embryo and nutritional supplement protect a rat model of aging against D-galactose-induced dysfunction of mitochondria and autophagy Aging process is usually associated with increased oxidative stress and deficiency of tissues and organs, which causes decline in life quality of individuals. Some anti-oxidant factors derived from foods have been implicated in delaying senescence and sustaining health.
PLOS ONE: Substance P Inhibits Hyperosmotic Stress-Induced Apoptosis in Corneal Epithelial Cells through the Mechanism of Akt Activation and Reactive Oxygen Species Scavenging via the Neurokinin-1 Receptor
Hyperosmolarity has been recognized as an important pathological factor in dry eye leading to ocular discomfort and damage. As one of the major neuropeptides of corneal innervation, substance P (SP) has been shown to possess anti-apoptotic effects in various cells. The aim of this study was to determine the capacity and mechanism of SP against hyperosmotic stress-induced apoptosis in cultured corneal epithelial cells.
