1 Introduction Photocatalysis offers a sustainable approach to harness solar energy for chemical transformations,[1] wherein the abundance of reactive sites on catalysts critically determines catalytic efficiency.[2] 2D materials have emerged as promising photocatalysts owing to their expansive basal planes, which were initially anticipated to provide abundant reactive sites.[3] However, studies of inorganic 2D semiconductors have revealed significant limitations in their basal-plane activity.
