Investigation on Isobaric Vapor-Liquid Equilibria of the Isopropyl Acetate + Water + Ethanol System

Distillation may be an effective way to recover the isopropyl acetate and ethanol from the mother liquor left during the production of sodium thioglycolate. The vapor–liquid equilibria (VLE) data for isopropyl acetate + ethanol binary and isopropyl acetate + ethanol + water ternary systems were investigated by the quasi-static ebulliometric method at (20, 40, 60, 80, and 101.3) kPa. The Hayden–O’Connell (HOC) equation was engaged to represent the nonideality of the vapor phase.
