AI companions are judged not only by single-turn fluency but by whether they sustain emotional continuity: remembering who the companion is, what the user prefers, and how the relationship has felt. We present ZifaMem, a structured memory system that organizes dialogue into session summaries, episodic memories, and a consolidated user model.
The landscape of plasma proteomic links to human organ imaging
Abstract Plasma protein levels provide important insights into human disease, yet a comprehensive assessment of plasma proteomics across organs is lacking. Using large-scale multimodal data from the UK Biobank, we integrate plasma proteomics with organ imaging to map their phenotypic and genetic links, analyzing 2923 proteins and 1051 imaging traits across multiple organs.
Multi-organ imaging and genetics show the impact of sleep patterns on the human brain and body
Abstract Sleep is crucial for overall physical and mental health, concerning organs such as the brain, heart, eye, liver, kidney, and lung. Nonetheless, a thorough understanding of how sleep relates to anatomical features of these organs, as well as their genetic bases, remains elusive. We analyzed ten sleep traits in relation to 623 imaging-derived biomarkers capturing the structure and function of multiple organs from UK Biobank (UKB).
Leveraging the microscale effect to enhance the overload capacity of a piezoresistive differential pressure sensor
Abstract The microscale effect has been widely employed in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices due to its unique capabilities to enhance heat transfer efficiency, improve mechanical performance, and significantly amplify electrostatic forces. In this paper, the microscale strength effect of monocrystalline silicon is incorporated into the design of a differential pressure sensor for the first time.
Comparing physician and artificial intelligence chatbot responses to preterm infant care questions posted to a public medical consultation forum: evaluation study
|
Abstract This study aims to compare the preterm infant care advice generated by ChatGPT with responses from neonatologists in an online medical consultation forum. This cross-sectional study involving 22 evaluators (12 experienced neonatologists and 10 lay users) compared the responses of an AI chatbot (ChatGPT 4o) and online human experts to 60 preterm infant care-related questions from the “Doctor DingXiang” platform accessed in August 2024.

Oncoprotein CYB561, acting in IRE1-XBP1-SREBF1 and FAK-ERK pathway, promotes breast cancer lipogenesis and progression
Abstract Breast cancer (BC) heterogeneity, particularly in triple-negative (TNBC) and HER2-positive subtypes, underpins therapeutic challenges and cancer-related mortality worldwide. Here, we identify the transmembrane oxidoreductase CYB561 as a pivotal oncoprotein that drives BC malignancy by coordinating lipid metabolic reprogramming and oncogenic signaling.

Durable Proton Exchange Membrane Based on Polymers of Intrinsic Microporosity for Fuel Cells
1 Introduction Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) have garnered considerable attention for their zero emissions and high energy conversion efficiency.[1, 2] High-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFCs), operating in the range of 100–200 °C,[3] hold significant promise for practical applications.[4] Polybenzimidazole (PBI) is the predominant and most developed membrane material for HT-PEMFCs due to its exceptional chemical and thermal stability.[5] When doped with...

Earth-abundant Li-ion cathode materials with nanoengineered microstructures - Nature Nanotechnology
Abstract Manganese-based materials have tremendous potential to become the next-generation lithium-ion cathode as they are Earth abundant, low cost and stable. Here we show how the mobility of manganese cations can be used to obtain a unique nanosized microstructure in large-particle-sized cathode materials with enhanced electrochemical properties.
Diffusion mechanisms of fast lithium-ion conductors - Nature Reviews Materials
Abstract The quest for next-generation energy-storage technologies has pivoted towards all-solid-state batteries, primarily owing to their potential for enhanced safety and energy density. At the centre of this promising technology lie inorganic lithium superionic conductors, which facilitate rapid ion transport comparable to that in their liquid counterparts.

Genetically Encoded Photocaged Proteinogenic and Non‐Proteinogenic Amino Acids
Photocaged amino acids could be genetically encoded into proteins via genetic code expansion (GCE) and constitute unique tools for innovative protein engineering. There are a number of photocaged proteinogenic amino acids that allow strategic conversion of proteins into their photocaged variants, thus enabling spatiotemporal and non-invasive regulation of protein functions using light.

Financial incentive interventions for smoking cessation among Chinese smokers: study protocol for a cluster randomised controlled trial
Methods and analysis This study will be a three-arm cluster randomised controlled trial (figure 1), and the worksite will be used as the cluster. Following the baseline assessment, worksites will be randomly assigned to one of the three arms. Smokers working in the assigned worksite will be classified to the corresponding arm. The two financial interventions and the control conditions will be implemented at the individual level. Follow-up visits are conducted at 1, 3, 6 months post-enrolment.

Unlocking Li superionic conductivity in face-centred cubic oxides via face-sharing configurations - Nature Materials
Abstract Oxides with a face-centred cubic (fcc) anion sublattice are generally not considered as solid-state electrolytes as the structural framework is thought to be unfavourable for lithium (Li) superionic conduction.

Large-scale imputation models for multi-ancestry proteome-wide association analysis
Abstract Proteome-wide association studies (PWAS) decode the intricate proteomic landscape of biological mechanisms for complex diseases. Traditional PWAS model training relies heavily on individual-level reference proteomes, thereby restricting its capacity to harness the emerging summary-level protein quantitative trait loci (pQTL) data in the public domain. Here we introduced a novel framework to train PWAS models directly from pQTL summary statistics.

Bioconjugation via Hetero‐Selective Clamping of Two Different Amines with ortho‐Phthalaldehyde
Abstract Simple ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA) reagent enables a facile and broadly applicable bioconjugation strategy via hetero-selective clamping of two different endogenous amino handles such as ϵ-NH2 of lysine and α-NH2 of α-amino acids without any pre-functionalization. Abstract Amino groups are common in both natural and synthetic compounds and offer a very attractive class of endogenous handles for bioconjugation.
