Abstract Lactate significantly accumulates in intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) to promote inflammation storm and nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) senescence. However, eliminating the lactate efficiently and inhibiting the inflammation storm and NPCs senescence stimulated by lactate remains a challenge.
