Josephson diode effect in nanowire-based Andreev molecules - Communications Physics
Abstract Superconducting systems exhibit non-reciprocal current transport under certain conditions of symmetry breaking, a phenomenon known as the superconducting diode effect. This effect allows for perfect rectification of supercurrent, and has received considerable research interest.

Macromorphological Control of Zr-Based Metal–Organic Frameworks for Hydrolysis of a Nerve Agent Simulant
1. Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Chemical warfare agents (CWAs) represent a major threat to military personnel and civilians alike due to their high lethality. (1−5) Rapid detoxification of CWAs is critical to protect large populations. (5−14) Of particular concern are nerve agents, a class of CWAs that inhibit the breakdown of acetylcholine.

Polymer-grafted Metal-Organic Frameworks: Design, Synthesis, and Application
Polymer-grafted Metal-Organic Frameworks: Design, Synthesis, and Application Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have become one of the most promising and widely applied materials in the 21st Century owing to their high surface area and unmatched versatile functionalities. Through combining MOFs with polymer matrices, one can potentially achieve novel composite materials that maintain merits of both components.
Rapid Exciton Transport and Structural Defects in Individual Porphyrinic Metal Organic Framework Microcrystals
Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs), with their characteristic high porosity, (1) large specific surface area, (2) facile chemical tunability, (3) and range of topological structures, (4) are the subject of diverse fundamental and practical interest. (5) For light harvesting and photochemical applications, the highly ordered, dense chromophore packing of MOFs can be leveraged to achieve favorable photophysical properties, including large extinction coefficients and efficient energy transfer.

Photoelectrochemical water oxidation by a MOF/semiconductor composite
Photoelectrochemical water oxidation by a MOF/semiconductor composite† Bradley Gibbons, a Daniel R. Cairnie, a Benjamin Thomas, a Xiaozhou Yang, a Stefan Ilic a and Amanda J. Morris *a Abstract Artificial photosynthesis is one of the most promising forms of renewable fuel production, due to the abundance of water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight. However, the water oxidation reaction remains a significant bottleneck due to the high thermodynamic and kinetic requirements of the four-electron process.
Defect Level and Particle Size Effects on the Hydrolysis of a Chemical Warfare Agent Simulant by UiO-66
Defect engineering in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has recently become an area of significant research due to the possibility of enhancing material properties such as internal surface area and catalytic activity while maintaining stable 3D structures. Through a modulator screening study, the model Zr4+ MOF, UiO-66, has been synthesized with control of particle sizes (100–1900 nm) and defect levels (2–24%).
Molecular-Level Control over Plasmonic Properties in Silver Nanoparticle/Self-Assembling Peptide Hybrids
The plasmonic properties of silver nanoparticle (AgNP) arrays are directly controlled by AgNP size, shape, and spatial arrangement. Reported here is a strategy to prepare chiral AgNP arrays templated by two constitutionally isomeric aromatic peptide amphiphiles (APAs), KSC′EKS and C′EKSKS (KS = S-aroylthiooxime-modified lysine, C′ = citrulline, and E = glutamic acid). In phosphate buffer, both APAs initially self-assembled into nanoribbons with a similar geometry.
Exceptional capacitive deionization rate and capacity by block copolymer-based porous carbon fibers
Abstract Capacitive deionization (CDI) is energetically favorable for desalinating low-salinity water. The bottlenecks of current carbon-based CDI materials are their limited desalination capacities and time-consuming cycles, caused by insufficient ion-accessible surfaces and retarded electron/ion transport. Here, we demonstrate porous carbon fibers (PCFs) derived from microphase-separated poly(methyl methacrylate)-block-polyacrylonitrile (PMMA-b-PAN) as an effective CDI material.
Nickel(II)-modified covalent-organic framework film for electrocatalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF)
Nickel(ii)-modified covalent-organic framework film for electrocatalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF)† Electrochemical oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is a promising synthetic route for 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) production. Here, we prepared a nickel(II)-modified covalent-organic framework (COF) film TpBpy-Ni@FTO for HMF electrooxidation. With a high conversion of HMF (96%), TpBpy-Ni@FTO afforded a 58% FDCA yield.
