Communicative strategy selection in language anxiety: eye-tracking evidence of EFL learners’ multimodal pragmatic regulation
In the context of globalization, language anxiety has become a common obstacle for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in cross-cultural communication. Centered on multimodal communicative strategy selection under anxiety, this study integrates a multimodal discourse analysis framework with eye-tracking technology to unpack EFL learners’ pragmatic regulation mechanisms.

Contact, agency, and haptic experience in sport: a conceptual analysis of embodied skill, interpersonal touch, and digital mediation
Abstract Sport is often analyzed through visual, physiological, or cognitive models, yet athletes also act through pressure, flow, friction, rebound, thermal change, bodily guidance, proximity, and vibration. These phenomena are usually examined separately in research on perceptual skill, coaching and safeguarding, disability access, and haptic technology.
Nutrition label literacy and adolescent mental well-being: a three-wave longitudinal study of healthy eating self-efficacy and physical activity as a moderator
Abstract Background: Nutrition label literacy may help adolescents interpret packaged-food information and develop confidence in healthier food choices, but its longitudinal association with positive mental well-being remains insufficiently understood.
Changes in extreme atmospheric drought and its influencing factors in the Kaidu-Kongque River Basin, Northwest China
Abstract Vapour pressure deficit (VPD) represents atmospheric drought and indicates the atmosphere’s ability to absorb moisture from the surface. Understanding VPD dynamics is crucial for revealing the mechanisms of regional climate change and drought. This study calculated monthly maximum vapor pressure deficit based on monthly maximum temperature and minimum relative humidity, and used it as an indicator characterizing the potential intensity of extreme atmospheric drought.
Exercise modalities and dose for improving arterial stiffness in risk-enriched adults: a systematic review and dose-response network meta-analysis
Background Exercise is recommended for cardiovascular prevention, but the comparative effects of different exercise modalities and weekly doses on carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV) in heterogeneous risk-enriched adults with cardiovascular risk-related conditions or characteristics remain uncertain.
Quantitative proteomic analysis was performed to evaluate the protein expression levels in the ovaries of goats with different litter sizes
Background The litter size of goats is a key factor affecting their reproductive performance. The ovary plays a central role in the reproductive process of goats. However, the relationship between the dynamic changes in the ovarian proteome and the prolific traits of goats remains unclear. The Jining Grey Goat, an excellent dual-purpose meat and skin breed in China, is famous for its distinctive coat color characteristics and high reproductive performance.

From digital stimulus to hiking participation: an SOR-based examination of the internal associations between social media hiking content and participation intention in Chinese generation Z consumers
Abstract Objective: This study examined the relationship between perceived social media hiking content and hiking participation intention among Chinese Generation Z consumers. It further tested whether this relationship was consistent with a serial mediation pattern involving travel inspiration and destination image, and whether social connectedness moderated these associations. Node-level network analysis was also used to identify key relational structures among construct items and dimensions.
Beyond western paradigms: a cross-cultural review of social–emotional competence frameworks and the promise of AI-driven assessment
Abstract Background: Social–emotional competence (SEC) is a critical yet culturally embedded construct. While foundational frameworks like collaborative for academic, social, and emotional learning (CASEL) and OECD provide influential models, their cross-cultural applicability and the validity of associated assessments are increasingly questioned, particularly in non-Western contexts. Concurrently, artificial intelligence (AI) presents novel opportunities for culturally responsive SEC measurement.

Association between sleep, sunlight exposure, and multimorbidity in older adults with and without mental illness
Abstract Background: Light exposure and sleep are closely related to many chronic conditions. However, the associations between light exposure, sleep, and multimorbidity have been less well characterized, particularly in older adults with and without mental illness. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in two representative areas in Northwest China. Core sleep parameters, sleep-related symptoms, and sunlight exposure were collected using self-reported questionnaires.
