1 Introduction Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) are a family of DNA-dependent enzymes consisting of 17 members. PARP-1 is the first and most extensively studied member, accounting for 85%–90% of the total function of all PARPs. PARP-1 plays an important role in DNA repair and the maintenance of genome integrity.
