Abstract As material living standards rise, the public increasingly focuses on environmental governance, and this growing environmental awareness profoundly affects corporate productivity. This study establishes an analytical framework grounded in the resource-based view and Porter’s hypothesis to examine the impact mechanism of public environmental attention (PEA) on corporate total factor productivity (CTFP), utilizing panel data from listed companies for the period 2011 to 2022.
