Transplantation of human pluripotent stem cell-derived pericytes ameliorates radiation-induced brain injury via CCR5 signaling
Abstract Radiation-induced brain injury remains an intractable complication of cranial radiotherapy, characterized by disrupted blood-brain barrier, inflammation, and progressive neuronal loss. Pericytes sustain severe damage in this pathology, yet no reliable repair treatment exists. Here we show that human pluripotent stem cell-derived pericytes exert therapeutic benefits in a mouse model of gamma knife radiation brain damage.
Comparative efficacy of dietary interventions for overweight or obese adults with type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Abstract Background: Dietary intervention is a cornerstone of management for patients with type 2 diabetes who are overweight or obese; however, the optimal strategy remains uncertain. We therefore conducted a network meta-analysis to compare the effects of time-restricted eating (TRE), short-term fasting (STF), and continuous energy restriction (CER) vs. general diet (GD) on glycemic, anthropometric, and lipid-related outcomes.
Association between the body roundness index and all-cause mortality in patients with metabolic dysfunction- associated steatotic liver disease
Abstract Background: The body roundness index (BRI) is a novel anthropometric measure derived from waist circumference and height that reflects abdominal adiposity. Previous studies have demonstrated that BRI has predictive value for all-cause mortality in the general population and in individuals with metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in the United States.
