Rodger said funding for the main and secondary trails came primarily through an Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency grant, while other site-related costs, including the campsites, were supported in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources. The project also received significant support from volunteers and co-op staff. The campground welcomed its first campers on June 30. Miller said more than 30 bookings had been made by August, bringing dozens of visitors from across Nova Scotia.
