What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means telling it like it is but redefining the "it" with every story.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I love my shiny red Sony voice recorder and I swear by otranscribe.com to help me go through all my tape. Also, crayon highlighters.
Why did you become a journalist?
There's an insane pleasure in seeing my byline that always keeps me inspired to report and write more. Also, I love learning new things.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Not the newspaper, but I did serve as an editor for my high school newspaper for 2 years. I was in charge of the superlatives my senior year.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Never stop asking questions and never stop pitching and networking.
What's your favorite drink?
Coconut water. It solves all of life's problems.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At a yoga class or trying a new restaurant in NYC or Fairfield County, CT
