1 Introduction Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a chronic condition characterised by two or more of the following: 1)—oligo- or anovulation, 2) polycystic ovarian morphology, and 3) androgen excess [1]. It is the commonest endocrinological condition in women of reproductive age, affecting around 15%–20% of women worldwide [2]. Complex and heterogeneous presentations of PCOS complicate the use of universal diagnostic criteria [3, 4].
