Abstract The ILCA6 (formerly Laser Radial) sailing dinghy frequently encounters wave conditions during training and competition, where wave-induced resistance and ship motions can significantly influence sailing performance. However, systematic investigations of the hydrodynamic characteristics of ILCA6 dinghies under regular head wave conditions over a wide range of sailing speeds and wavelengths remain limited.

2. Bibliometric Analysis Scientometric analysis [17,18] presents high-level insights into the research domain; the field tendencies, important issues, study contents and methods can be readily visualized, conveniently identified and interpreted. In this section, bibliometric analysis is conducted to show the timeline and source distribution of automatic ship berthing within the collected literature database.
