On June 29, Gaobu Town's 2026 Dragon Boat Championship kicked off. This triennial "doubiao" (competitive dragon boat heats) brought together 18 top local teams, with more than 100 paddlers cutting through the water and racing at full speed in a thrilling display of power and agility. What made this year's event even more special was the addition of a standard dragon boat exhibition race, featuring five teams from enterprises, social organizations, and clubs.

On June 10, two programs under the 2026 Short-term Foreign Aid Training Program for Women's Development concluded in Dongguan: the Seminar on Sci-tech Empowerment and Digital Entrepreneurship for Women from Asian Countries and the Seminar on AI Capacity Building for Women from Developing Countries. The overall program kicked off in Beijing on May 28, with the two seminars opening in Dongguan on June 2 and June 4, respectively.

From June 6 to 7, the 2026 China BMX Freestyle League & Asian Games National Team Trials (Dongguan Huangjiang) took place. Over 100 professional riders from Guangdong, Anhui, Sichuan and other parts of the country gathered in Huangjiang, Dongguan, showcasing superb speed and skill. Sun Sibei, the winner of the elite women's category, pulls off a tuck no-hander trick. A competitor performs an X-up. Despite the hot weather, the audience stayed highly enthusiastic.
