Multiferroic Metallic MonolayerCu(CrSe2)2 The two-dimensional (2D) Cu(CrSe2)2 monolayer stands out for its combined ferromagnetic (FM), ferroelectric (FE), and metallic properties, marking itself as a prominent 2D multiferroic metal. This work studies those properties and the relevant physics, using density functional calculations, Monte Carlo simulations, and ab initio molecular dynamics. Our results show that Cu(CrSe2)2 monolayer is in the Cr3+ t32g state with S = 3/2 and Cu1+ 3d10 with S = 0.

Two-dimensional (2D) magnetic materials are currently of great interest for their promising applications in spintronics. Strong magnetic coupling and anisotropy are both highly desirable for the achievement of high-temperature magnetic order. Here we propose the unusual high-valence FeS2 hexagonal monolayer as such a candidate for a strong Ising 2D ferromagnet by spin-orbital state analyses, first-principles calculations, and the renormalized spin-wave theory (RSWT).

Unique electronic state in ferromagnetic semiconductor FeCl$_{2}$ monolayer Two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials could be an ideal platform for ultracompact spintronic applications. Among them, FeCl$_{2}$ monolayer in the triangular lattice is subject to a strong debate.
