VOC observations improve transferable ozone prediction using interpretable machine learning
Abstract Surface ozone variability is controlled by complex interactions among emissions, chemistry, and meteorology, yet the extent to which machine learning models capture chemically meaningful relationships remains uncertain. Here we apply an automated machine learning framework to develop optimized tree-based ensemble models using four years of meteorological, primary pollutant, and volatile organic compound (VOC) observations collected in Shanghai.
Intestinal TGR5-targeted carrier-drug conjugate improves glycemic control in mice and pigs
Editor’s summary Gastrointestinal (GI) Takeda G protein–coupled receptor 5 (TGR5) is a potential therapeutic target for type 2 diabetes mellitus, but toxic side effects from prolonged off-target signaling have limited its clinical development. In Zhang et al., the authors developed a drug carrier conjugate (TGR5-CaDC) to promote TGR5 signaling specifically in the GI tract.
