Genome-wide identification of the BES1 gene family and functional study of VcBES1.3 under salt stress in blueberry ( Vaccinium corymbosum )
Abstract BES1 (BRI1-EMS-SUPPRESSOR 1) transcription factors mediate brassinosteroid signaling and regulate plant growth, development, and stress responses. The BES1 family has not been characterized in blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.). We identified 16 VcBES1 family members and classified them into four groups based on phylogenetic analysis. Promoters of the BES1 genes mainly contain cis-elements associated with abiotic stress and phytohormone signaling.
Lipidomic and transcriptomic remodeling underlies early retinal pathogenesis in dry age-related macular degeneration
Abstract Dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is initiated by retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) dysfunction, yet early metabolic mechanisms linking RPE injury to photoreceptor dysfunction remain unclear. Using a physiologically relevant mouse model, we performed cell-type–resolved lipidomic and transcriptomic profiling with ultrastructural analyses.
Adjunctive therapies added to standard of care for diabetic foot ulcers: a systematic review and network meta-analysis with pairwise comparisons
Abstract Background: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) remain one of the most disabling and costly complications of diabetes. Although standard of care (SOC) is the foundation of DFU management, many ulcers fail to heal adequately, prompting increasing use of adjunctive therapies. However, the comparative effectiveness of different adjunctive strategies remains uncertain.
Origin of crack propagation in lithium cobalt oxide positive electrode for lithium-ion batteries
Abstract Although the anionic activity in layered oxide positive electrodes is partially understood, the mechanism by which it induces internal crack propagation under high-voltage conditions remains unclear, severely limiting stable cycle life and available capacity. In this study, the mechanism underlying internal crack propagation is elucidated in LiCoO2 under harsh float-charge conditions at 60 °C and a potential of 4.6 V vs.

P-STAT3-dependent SPP1 transcription in cholangiocytes drives hepatic stellate cells activation in congenital hepatic fibrosis
Abstract Congenital hepatic fibrosis (CHF) is a rare inherited liver disorder caused by mutations in the polycystic kidney and hepatic disease-1 gene (PKHD1), leading to progressive hepatic fibrosis. In our study, single-cell RNA sequencing of a CHF patient carrying compound heterozygous PKHD1 mutations revealed markedly intercellular communication between cholangiocytes and hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) via the secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1)–integrin α8β1 axis.

PRKN/PINK1 Mutations in a Chinese Patient With Early‐Onset Parkinson's Disease
1 Introduction Pathogenic variations in Parkinson's disease (PD)-linked genes have been found in 5%–15% of patients. An earlier age at onset (AAO), a positive family history, and/or a specific heritage are all likely indicators of positive gene variations (Cook et al. 2024). However, the link between distinct genetic changes and the varied symptoms of PD remains unknown.
NDUFB9 ameliorates CUMS-induced depression-like behavior by promoting mitophagy - Translational Psychiatry
Abstract Major depressive disorder (MDD) is characterized by persistent low mood and anhedonia. Mitochondrial dysfunction is linked to MDD, but the mechanisms are unclear. In this study, transcriptomic analysis of MDD patients’ peripheral blood found three key genes: TFAM, SURF1, and NDUFB9. Single-cell transcriptomic analysis of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) in MDD patients identified seven cell types.

Intergenerational income mobility, which measures the extent to which income is passed on from one generation to the next, reflects the degree of openness in a society. Lower levels of mobility imply higher class persistence, meaning that an individual’s economic status is largely determined by their family background [1,2].

Long-term relapse-free survival enabled by integrating targeted antibacteria in antitumor treatment - Nature Communications
Abstract The role of tumor-resident intracellular microbiota (TRIM) in carcinogenesis has sparked enormous interest. Nevertheless, the impact of TRIM-targeted antibacteria on tumor inhibition and immune regulation in the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains unexplored. Herein, we report long-term relapse-free survival by coordinating antibacteria with antitumor treatment, addressing the aggravated immunosuppression and tumor overgrowth induced by TRIM using breast and prostate cancer models.

Near Infrared Light‐Activatable Platelet‐Mimicking NIR‐II NO Nano‐Prodrug for Precise Atherosclerosis Theranostics
1 Introduction Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects arteries and is the main cause of cardiovascular disease. At the onset of atherosclerosis, the endothelial layer is harmed, and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL) accumulates, facilitating inflammation of body tissues.[1] As atherosclerotic plaques sustain to accumulate, they can obstruct blood circulatory flow, thereby inducing ischemic vascular diseases such as heart attack or stroke and so on.
Extending on-surface synthesis from 2D to 3D by cycloaddition with C60 - Nature Communications
Abstract As an efficient molecular engineering approach, on-surface synthesis (OSS) defines a special opportunity to investigate intermolecular coupling at the sub-molecular level and has delivered many appealing polymers. So far, all OSS is based on the lateral covalent bonding of molecular precursors within a single molecular layer; extending OSS from two to three dimensions is yet to be realized. Herein, we address this challenge by cycloaddition between C60 and an aromatic compound.
