A teenage boy presented with more than 10-year history of skin discoloration and difficulty protruding the tongue. A previous biopsy sample of the tongue at an outside hospital had been interpreted as lingual amyloidosis. Clinical examination revealed waxy, glistening nodules along the lateral borders of the tongue and diffuse cobblestone-like changes of the lips, posterior buccal mucosa, soft palate, dorsal tongue, and floor of the mouth, with pale, uneven, and firm surfaces (Figure 1A).
