To the Editor Sau et al1 present a compelling deep-learning model (AIRE-CHB) that accurately predicts incident complete heart block (CHB). While their explainability analysis interestingly links high-risk scores to electrical surrogates, such as QRS widening and PR prolongation, we ponder whether the model might also be detecting the underlying histological substrate.
