1 Introduction Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are a type of immunotherapy that counteracts T cell inhibition mediated by the PD-L1/PD-L2-PD-1 and CD80/CD86-CTLA-4 co-inhibitory signaling pathways. Since their first introduction and approval in the last decade, there have been rapid developments in the types of monoclonal antibodies and an increasing expansion of indications across many malignancy types [1-3].
