Abstract Using CN05.1 observations and high-resolution NEX-GDDP-CMIP6 simulations, we evaluate the performance of climate models in reproducing extreme precipitation over the Yangtze River Basin based on Taylor diagrams, Taylor Skill Score, and Interannual Variability Score. Extreme Value Theory (EVT), through the Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution, is further applied to estimate the 10-year and 20-year return levels of RX1day and RX5day.

Loading metrics There are errors in the Tables 3,4 and 11. In Table 3, the values for “R2/ Pseudo R2” under columns “(3)” and “(4)” should be corrected to “0.044” and “0.054”, respectively. In Table 4, the values for “N” and “R2/ Pseudo R2” in columns “(1)”, “(2)”, “(3)”, and “(4)” are incorrect.
