Optimization of perioperative nutrition management based on the ERAS protocol for improving postoperative recovery in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty: a prospective comparative study
Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical effects of an ERAS-based perioperative nutrition management bundle on nutritional status (indicated by prealbumin), postoperative complications (postoperative nausea and vomiting, PONV), and patient satisfaction in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and to provide preliminary evidence for the standardization of ERAS nutrition protocols in orthopedic practice.
Spontaneous Thoracic Spinal Epidural Hematoma: A Case Report and Literature Review
1 Introduction Spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma (SSEH) is characterized by the development of a hematoma in the absence of trauma, iatrogenic interventions, or identifiable systemic disorders. The accumulation of blood within the epidural space may compress the spinal cord and/or nerve roots, frequently resulting in significant neurological impairment.
Frontiers | Case Report: Prosthetic revision due to aseptic loosening following total knee arthroplasty: a clinical management and pathological mechanism investigation
1 Introduction Total joint arthroplasty (TJA) is the gold standard for treating end-stage joint diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Globally, approximately 1.5 million TJA procedures are performed annually, with a 25%–30% annual growth rate in China (1). However, aseptic loosening is a major long-term complication, affecting 10%–15% of patients within 15–20 years postoperatively, primarily due to wear particle-induced aseptic inflammatory osteolysis (incidence >10%) (1).
