Primary Cutaneous Cryptococcosis
A woman in her 70s presented to the emergency department with a rapidly expanding skin lesion on her left forearm. This first presented 1 week prior as an asymptomatic, erythematous patch on the wrist with extension to the elbow and evolution into a tender, indurated plaque with numerous hemorrhagic bullae and jellylike discharge (Figure 1). She worked as a farmer gathering bamboo shoots in mountainous areas without any known injuries.
