Chromosome-level genome assembly of the horned turban snail Turbo cornutus
Abstract The horned turban snail (Turbo cornutus) is an ecologically and economically important herbivorous gastropod inhabiting nearshore rocky reef habitats. T. cornutus represents a valuable coastal fishery resource in East Asia. Here, we present a chromosome-level genome assembly for T. cornutus generated using a combination of PacBio HiFi long-read and Illumina short-read sequencing and Hi-C scaffolding.

ABSTRACT Since ChatGPT’s release in 2022, public discourse has surged around AI’s promises and risks. News coverage influences public understandings of AI, yet few studies examine its framing as a threat. Portrayed like immigrants, AI appears as an “artificial immigrant” within human-technology relations, posing threats to jobs and humanity. Guided by media framing and Integrated Threat Theory, analyzing 1,005 articles from four U.S. outlets reveals five main topics.

Abstract Depression is associated with cholesterol metabolism dysregulation, but the exact correlation and underlying mechanism remain unclear. Here, our finding reveals a notable reduction in cholesterol, specifically in apolipoprotein E lipoprotein (ApoE-Lps)-carried cholesterol, in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of depressed rats exposing to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) or stress-level corticosterone.
