Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 31% of all deaths globally. Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), a common complication of CVDs, is a major cause of mortality and morbidity. Studies have shown efficacious use of mesenchymal stem cells-derived extracellular vesicles (MSCs-EVs) to mitigate IRI in animals, but few research has been done on human-related models.
